We’ve got a gorgeous, sunny weekend in store. I’d love to spend the whole time outside! Fortunately, I’ll have some outdoor time at my stepdaughter’s soccer tournament. Maybe we can squeeze a hike in as well. However, I won’t be doing any shopping. I decided to embark on my own little fitness boot camp to shed a few married life pounds before I spend anything on fall clothes. Thanks to my new saving strategy, I do have a little fun money to spend when I get back into my happy weight zone.
In the meantime, I’ve been finding great frugal ideas across the web. Here are my favorites, along with two carnivals:
If you’re looking for good recipes this week, check out the Feeding the Family Carnival at Healthy Dinner Recipes. I plan to try the healthy three-pepper pasta topping; it looks delicious!
I also submitted a post to the 19th Finance Fiesta, and it was an editor’s pick. Yay! Living Almost Large put together a great carnival, where you’ll find excellent advice for job hunters at Free Money Finance, and excellent advice for budget-ers at the Financial Wellness Project.
Elsewhere around the web, I connected to Almost Frugal’s musings on shopping. She asks if you shop for the experience or the object. I used to indulge in the whole experience far too often. Now, I’m trying to discover the joys of window shopping! I was very impressed by Notes from the Frugal Trenches. She’s gone six months without shopping. Nice work!
Sustainable Pantry had a feast at a farm; I’ve very jealous! If I’m up in New York, I’ll definitely visit.
Via Get Rich Slowly, I found a link to A Practical Wedding. Happily, my wedding planning days are over, but if yours aren’t, check out this site. It’s great!
Enjoy your weekend; I hope the sun is out in your neck of the woods!
